Diagnostic Assessment

Diagnostic Assessment

Our Diagnostic Assessment service provides a comprehensive psychological evaluation designed to identify and understand a range of mental health conditions and behavioural patterns. Whether you’re seeking clarity on a potential diagnosis, need documentation for accommodations, or want to gain deeper insight into your mental well-being, we are here to help.

Our Diagnostic Assessment is a structured, multi-step process designed to ensure a thorough and accurate evaluation. You will first meet with one of our experienced psychotherapists for two sessions, totalling 3-4 hours. During these sessions, we will gather background information and have you complete standardized questionnaires. Afterward, you will meet with Dr. O’Byrne for 1-2 hours to complete the diagnostic portion of the assessment, where any necessary paperwork will also be completed. This process ensures a comprehensive and individualized assessment, providing you with a clear understanding of your mental health and the next steps forward.

Following the assessment, any recommended treatment or therapy will be provided by one of our experienced psychotherapists, ensuring personalized support tailored to your needs.

Thrive Psychology and Wellness Centre practices psychotherapy virtually across the culturally diverse province of Ontario. We respectfully recognize and acknowledge that the land we primarily serve (i.e., Ontario) is rooted in the traditional territories of the First Nations and Métis Peoples and is home to many Inuit people. We acknowledge Indigenous people as the original keepers and protectors of this land and are grateful for the many opportunities that this privileged land affords us in our beautiful province and country. As a psychological practice, we dedicate ourselves to practicing respectfully and mindfully, and to developing greater cultural literacy and responsiveness to Indigenous populations and issues.
